Jupiler League Playoffs Week 3 Saturday Previews

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

So far I'm down -0.57 units on the playoffs and still have enough units to work with that I'm willing to lose in worst case (1.43 units) as that in worst case scenario ends my season at +10 units. I do intend to be profitable however even though I remain cautious just moving along in the same way that I have done all season. 2 matches of Playoff 2 on Saturday...

Playoff 2 Standings

Cercle Brugge vs AA Gent

AA Gent is in pole position to win playoff 2 being 5 points clear of both Cercle Brugge and Standard. Now there are 2 matches against Cercle who are in a good flow and still believe in their chances. A win for them today is needed if they want to keep their chance alive while a win for AA Gent fully crushes the chances of Cercle. The last 3 league matches between these teams ended in 3-2 for cercle, 3-4 for Cerlce, 2-2 with Cercle as home team while the cup match ended in a 2-0 score at home for Gent. So generally there are quite some goals in these matches with Cercle performing well. In their first match, Cecle played a 0-0 match at home with solid defense but not enough offensively. The match however againts Westerlo ended in a crazy 3-5 score. AA Gent has some missings and many players with slight injuries who are questionable. They tend to score freely lately but also aren't flawless in defense. Since Cercle needs a win, this should be a quite open match at some point even though I do believe their coach once again will hammer on the defensive tasks. My Lean is on the over but I rather wait some time or for the first goal to come before getting in. No Pre-Game Bets

Standard vs Westerlo

While there still is a slight chance for Standard, Westerlo is fully eliminated from playoff 2 after 2 losses and their form simply isn't what it used to be during most of the regular season. Westerlo is also missing a lot of offensive power with Vetokele and Vaesen injured. Last week at home, they simply weren't a match for Cercle Brugge and right now my only real option is to oppose them. At the same time, it has been a while since Standard really put up one of their great performances but the last time they played against Westerlo at home, they by far put up their best and most impressive performance winning with a 2-0 score. Now they still have something to play for potentially especially if AA Gent fails to win against Cercle. I do expect Standard to take charge in this match and try to push back Westerlo. Last time this resulted in a 5-0 1st half in the corners while Westerlo in their 1st half away against Gent lost 3-1. I'm taking a 0.2 unit gamble on Standard 1H -0.5 Corners @ 1.720 and I will keep it at that for now.
