Europa & Conference League Group Stage Week 5 Previews

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

I feel that I had a mini break from football these past couple of days as i fully skipped the Champions League match. Similar to the past rounds in the group stage, my focus this season is less on it so I mostly go with brief previews leaving the betting action for in-game based on what I see at that time.

Malmo vs Union

Union (37M) just continues to be solid and at this point I feel they are a team that can be trusted until the moment they really show signs of an off-day. Over the weekend they got 0-2 behind at home against Club Brugge but still managed to make a comeback with 10 vs 11. They are in the lead in their group now with 10 points after 4 games and can seal the 1st place against Malmo (26M) who are last with 0 points. My lean going into this match for sure is on Union as they are complete while Malmo with nothing to play for seems to have many injured players and a suspension. There is no real reason why Union would not continue their good run in Europe. They also on paper have an easy match in the league. They are also a team that plays to score goals and regularly get goals against. For Now, No Pre-Game Bets

Anderlecht vs Sheaua Bucharest

Big crisis in Anderlecht (99M) who fired their coach and put their futures coach in charge for now in who they put a lot of trust. The new coach likely will be temporary as they don't want to burn in. He will change the system and play more like Kompany did so it should be a bit more offensive. It remains the question of this will create a shift in momentum and if the players actually can rise above their level. FCSB (34M) was quite weak in the first match which ended in a 0-0 score. I'm not really interested in a -1.75 pre-game line for Anderlecht even if Bucharest likely will play a semi B-Squad putting their focus already on the league since they have nothing to play for in Europe while it's a must-win for Anderlecht. If it stays even for a while or if Anderlecht gets behind while clearly being better I might get a bet in on them to win or make a comebeck. For now, No Pre-Game Bets

Shamrock Rovers vs AA Gent

AA Gent (69M) took an easy straightforward win at home against Shamrock (3.1M) but overall in Europe they have been in a really bad form while in the league they also have been putting up mixed performances. With 2 more matches to go in the Conference League, they are not out yet and a win is a must tonight. They have been in this situation of having to win multiple times before which they tend to be quite good at. Shamrock is last in the group with 1 point and 0 goals scored and 8 against. They did play a 0-0 at home against Djurgardens who is 1st in the group. My lean for sure is on AA Gent but also here I'm in no rush to get in and will just wait and see. No Pre-Game Bets
