Belgian Jupiler League 2022-2023 | Weekly News Update

I will be keeping up to date with everything going on with teams building for the 2022-2023 Belgian Jupiler League Season. This is the news on the most important things that happened...

Holzhauser signed for OHL woming from the relegated Beerschot. He will be replacing the vitally important Mercier who is set to leave. Unless Holhauzer reaches his form of a couple of years ago, it looks like quite a big downgrade in quality for OHL.
37-year-old Christophe Lepoint to Seraing coming over from Moeskroen who went bankrupt. HE for sure will bring experience but It also begs the question how much his old age will be a factor especially knowing he isn't exactly coming from a top team.
AA Gent Goalkeeper Bolat already wanted to leave the team during last winter break and no longer played afterward being replaced by Roef who put up excellent performances. Now he's making a surprising transfer to promoted team Westerlo. He also could have gone to Fenerbahçe to act as 2nd goalkeeper but he opted to go to a team where he is 1st choice. For sure a nice enforcement for Westerlo.
Matondo who was one of the revelations at the end of last season for Cercle Brugge will be leaving the team. He was a player that was rented and will be going back to Schalke 04 with as they did not find a personal agreement which for sure is a blow for Cercle.
Arnaud Dony will go from Stvv where he didn't have a prof contract yet to Union. He is an 18-year-old Belgian Yought-Internetional who made his debuut in the 1st league last season.
Dessers who was loaned to Feynoord where he put up an excellent performance will return to Genk. Feyenoord was willing to pay the 4 Million but the salary demands from Dessers were too high for a longer stay.

Milos Pantovic who is an ex players from Bayern will be joining AA Gent as a free agent coming from Bochum where he played 32 matches mostly as a stand-in scoring 8 goals and 3 assists.

I'll keep an eye out for news and will bring another update next week...
