Belgian Cup Final Preview | Union SG vs FC Antwerp

Not really the outcome I hoped for yesterday even though Fiorentina could have won the match outright easily as they hit the post/crossbar 3 times. This started my week with a modest -0.3 unit loss. There is still the cup final in a couple of hours from now and and entire play day in the Playoffs over the weekend so plenty of betting action left.

Union vs Antwerp

Both teams played each other twice in the playoffs with Union winning twice quite easily with 4-1 and 0-3. One of the reasons for this is because Antwerp has been with their head in this Cup Final for a while kind of lacking the proper motivation toward the Playoffs. The tricky thing however is that this has gotten them in a streak where they lost match after match. In the last match at home against Club Brugge, they played their full squad and showed intensity with an eye to get confidence for this cup match but in the end they were unable to really keep it up for longer than a half ending with another loss. So by no means an optimal way for them to go into this match after 3 losses including 2 against the same opponent of today. Union seems to have picked up their better form against after losing 4 matches in a row starting the playoffs. It's mostly their offensive department which has been leff efficient. Last weekend, they didn't get further than a 0-0 against Anderlecht at home. I don't expect a 4-1 or 0-3 like the most recent encounters but instead a more cautious approach from both mainly not wanting to make any mistakes. This often is the scenario how cup matches which bring about quite some nerves start. The limits were quite low and I got to cost average 0.25 units on 1H Under 1 @ 2.031 wanting to get it to at least 0.4 units but the odds crashed (now 1.8) so I'm keeping what I have for now. The odds on Union are too low to take the gamble pre-game especially without seeing the match picture and I'm not going to speculate on Antwerp out of nowhere suddenly putting up a great performance.
