Will the new coach Spalletti be able to take Italy to the top of the world rankings?

The Italian football championship has finally begun, an event for Italians that is always eagerly awaited and marks the beginning of a new awaited football season. After the long-awaited summer break, the players take to the field for a new long program of events that will intersect for the next 9 months and which will continue next summer with the European championships! If you are a fan of this sport, then sit comfortably in your armchair because the football season will be longer than the others.

Shortly before the start of the Italian championship, the football world was shaken by an unexpected episode, the resignation of Roberto Mancini as coach of the national football team. A sudden event just a few days before the start of the qualifiers for the European championship, leaving not only the national team without a coach but also an entire country that was already looking forward to the start of the event.

Thus, during the holiday week of excellence, that of August 15th, the FIGC (Italian Football Federation) began the search for the new technical commissioner, identifying two eligible coaches already ready for the new blue adventure: Luciano Spalletti, recently freed from Napoli with whom he has just won the Italian championship, and Antonio Conte, former coach of the Italian national team.

In truth, attention has always been focused on the former Napoli coach, but due to a legal technicality, the negotiation was complex. In fact Spalletti, immediately after winning the championship, decided to take a break, due to obvious differences with the Neapolitan management, and signing a document in which for the following year he would abstain from coaching any other football club, under penalty of a fine important sound.

Well, after negotiations also with the president of Napoli, the FIGC reached an agreement with coach Spalletti, guaranteeing the leadership of the blue team for the next qualifying tournament for the 2024 European Championships. A decision that I approve of because Spalletti could really be the right coach to build a new globally competitive team. In fact Italy unfortunately missed the last two World Cups, not qualifying in the preliminary rounds.

Spalletti has shown that he has great technical knowledge and is also a coach who offers opportunities to many young players, who today have a great desire to play but are struggling to find space. It will be interesting to observe from the next match of the Italian national team, the training and tactical choices. I hope to see a team able to give emotions again.

Hopping that Spalletti will bring a more entertaining game to watch with his style, Mancini's style tactics-wise was never to be fun and almost always boring. But, building a team with young players takes time and he doesn't have that much time left for the next WC, but I hope he will prevail, a WC is not whole without the drama and emotions which come with Italy's team.

He is a great manager, who has his own philosophy of how he wants his team to play. My only fear is would he be able to infuse his style of play into the national team since he doesn't spend much time with the players. I feel we will see a lot of new faces in the Italian national team.
