Remembering My First Golfing Experience
It feels like such A long time ago since my first time going onto A golf course, it has only been A couple of weeks but seeing as I haven't been since due to the horrible weather it does feel like forever.
I must admit there's nothing quite like the feeling of standing on the tee box, surveying the fairway ahead, and taking a deep breath before you swing, and with me it is 50/50 as to whether I hit A good shot or not with my beginner skill level. It's a game of patience, precision, and perseverance, and growing up it was A sport that I had considered boring, on TV it looked boring and watching someone play looked boring but as with many things when you actually give it A go you find that it is interesting.
I don't like everything about golf I find that it's A very expensive and strict sport to play. A set of clubs can easily cost £500 just for an entry-level set, Some golf clubs are very skill-strict and don't let newbies on courses unless you buy into their annual memberships costing over £1000, and lastly A strict Uniform policy, I must confess when I went on to the course there were A few awkward looks from players as I was just wearing A hoodie, jeans and Nike trainers, sadly it's not "golf etiquette" I knew there were smart ways to dress but I didn't know it was A rule. luckily the front desk gentlemen was very kind and praised that I want to give the sport a go.
With all its challenges and complexities, there's something fundamentally simple and satisfying about golf.
