REMINDER, Chess Brothers League Season 3 "Master Sacrifice" - Announcement of Round 6
Hi, dear chess friends!
Round 5 was played and @lucianosky was victorious. This time we played Chess960 and it was quite interesting to see all those chaotic games from the first move. Maybe we should play more often this kind of games so Fischer would be proud of us, LOL.
In the tournament 24 players were enrolled, which is not bad, although we would like to see a higher participation in the near future. Hopefully more players will be encouraged to play in the league.
It is very interesting to highlight the first places of this round. As we already said, @lucianosky came in first place, @tony1294 in second, @eimchessmaster in third and @samostically in fourth place. Thanks to this 4th place @samostically has taken the top spot on the leaderboard. For the first time, the league is led by a different player and the situation becomes tense in this final stretch of the championship.
Will he be able to keep the lead? His closest challenger is @lucianosky and the difference between them is 5 points, which may be quite a lot considering the scoring system. We'll have to wait and see what happens in the final rounds.
You can see the whole results of this round here.

A few interesting moments
Starting position of the game
@rodrook vs @emichessmaster
@Rodrook's games are always exciting and today it was his turn to face the strong player @emichessmaster. The funny thing about this game is that they reached the following position which is "very normal". Indeed, it looks like a traditional game when in reality this came from chess960.
How did they make it to his position so quickly? They have a keen sense of traditional chess!
Maybe we always want to reach structures that we already know, well it makes perfect sense.
Black has done things quite well. They have a proper control of the center and a quite effective development, and little by little they have accumulated small advantages. Finally Black won a pawn after a series of exchanges and thus won the endgame.
