Partey Needs To Pick Up His Game
Tomas Partey is without a doubt one of the most important players in Mikel Arteta's squad and you will see it the moment he is not in the squad. Without him, Arsenal fails to win a lot more than when he is available and even if he is not playing well you will see a drop-off in the squad's performance.
Partey like Tierney tends to pick up a number of injuries during the season and that impacts his form, which has been in decline as evident from the stats of the Ghana star in the second half of the last two league matches.
On Sunday against Southampton, his performance after half-time was nowhere near the level he reached in the first 45 minutes at St Mary's and it showed with Arsenal failing to dominate the second half. Mikel doesn't feel that Lakonga can come in and give Partey a rest and with Elneny out, Mikel tends to leave him on the pitch longer than he should.
If Arsenal is to challenge near the top of the table this season, they need their big players to stand up and perform when it gets tough away from home or be taken off for someone who can keep up the performances needed.

Arsenal has a game against PSV this week, which would be a good opportunity to give Lakonga and Viera some game time in the middle of the pitch and with Zinchenko and Smith Rowe still out it's an opportunity for these players to give Partey a rest.
We will need him at his best against a tough Nottingham side on the weekend as city edge closer to closing the gap on the Gunners at the top of the table.
