Arsenal Looking To Nab Keita

avatar

Arsenal is still looking to secure two more players before the end of the transfer window, namely a central midfielder in the box-to-box mold and another winger. Having sold Guendouzi and Torrieria this season and moving on Patino out on loan, Arsenal only have Elneny and Lakongo should anyone get injured.

The Gunners are still keen to sell Ainsley Maitland-Niles who spent his time out on loan at Roma last season, making more space for another mobile midfielder. They have been focusing most of their time trying to secure Teielmens from Leicester but they don't seem to be interested and would rather have him leave on a free next season.

Failed pursuits for a centre mid

By that time I don't think Arsenal would be keen on him, so he could miss that move altogether if he doesn't move now. The North Londers have been exploring alternatives in the form of former player Bennacer who Milan seem keen to keep and pricing him out of a move by demanding around 40 million for him, while Brighton's Caicedo is tied to a long term deal with with the cash Brighton have recived for other players they are under no pressure to sell someone who will play regularly and has only begun to settle into the team.

Smash and Nab

The dilemma has pushed them to look at stranded Liverpool star Naby Kieta. Jurgen Klopp has not really used him much and as he gets older he would look for some more regular game time, something Liverpool aren't offering right now. Arsene Wenger wanted Keita a few years back and he was one of the biggest transfer targets Wenger missed out on but Mikel could go back for him now.

Naby Keita has stalled any contract talks at Anfield, and with Mikel Arteta still keen to add a new midfielder to his Arsenal squad, they could pick up the Guinea international for cheap or on a free next summer as his contract expires.

Naby is a great technician, he has a limited passing range but he is a great ball carrier and knows how to keep it ticking in the midfield. I think he is technically better than Xhaka, but he is far more injury prone than the Swiss hard man.

He also doesn't offer much in terms of assists and goals, but more of an outlet to pull opposition players out of position and to crowd the midfield with his athletic ability.

Kieta a gamble

Keïta has been at Liverpool since 2018 and with 4 years done, he has one year left of his 5 year deal after signing from RB Leipzig for massive £52m.

Naby has been hit with plenty of injuries during his time with the Reds but had his best season for Liverpool last season making 40 appearances for the club, however most of them were substitute appearances and only 23 of them were in the league.

He has never really got going at Liverpool the way he did in Germany and at Arsenal, he would have to do far less defensive work and can simply carry the ball which would suit his game better.

I still think it's a gamble with his injury record, but if they can bring him in on loan or on the cheap, it could be a risk worth taking.

Berge on the brink

If rumours are true, Klopp seems to be resigned to losing the unhappy Kieta, and is already looking at alternatives with a 15 million bid possibly lined up for Sheffield Norweigan hardman Sander Berge, ironically a previous Arsenal target.

Sander has been spending his time in the Championship having failed to secure a move to a premier league team when his club went down and is keen to give the top flight another shot. Moving to a team like Liverpool would be a massive upgrade and I am sure he would be happy with limited game time.

If Liverpool can secure the deal I am sure they would be more than happy to let Naby go on a cut price.

Youri at the pool

Another option for Liverpool would be to simply head over to the Foxes and doa. deal for Tielemans, Arsenal have agreed personal terms but couldn't agree a fee for the player and Liverpool have far deeper pockets so they could give the Foxes the funds they want so they would be happy to move him on.

Additionally, the Foxes would need enough funds to purchase a new left-back and a goalkeeper, a center-back should Fofana move to Chelsea and they need to replace Teilemans. They are looking to secure around 80 million if Tielemans and Fofana leave and use that to rebuild the squad.

Leicester are already shortlisting Scott McTominay from Manchester United as a midfielder replacement as will probably see his game time at the club cut short with the arrival of 70 million big money signing Casimero from Real Madrid. Considering that Everton and Newcastle are also keen on the Scotsman it will all be about who can offer him the most game time and I think the best move would be to try and grab him on loan first and then try to do a permanent deal next season.

As the transfer deadline day gets closer we can expect teams to start ramping up deals and start to panic buy, especially ones that have showed some really poor results in the opening months.

Keita is not a bad idea and having him in Arsenal is still a plus.

Arsenal has had the best deals so far

He had a bad time at Liverpool and never really got going, hitting that form he had in Germany, if we can get him and he gets back to that man he will be a monster next to Partey on the pitch

I feel he will be a better substitute for Odegaard than Xhaka tho

I don't see it, Ode takes up number 10 roles, and drifts, and we have smith rowe as competition for that spot. Ode already has more assists than naby in overall career and his younger. Naby is never been profit in creation, maybe for Leipzig and for his national team a bit more but club his not on the elite level and to me his more of a box to box player
