Arsenal Looking to Get Paqueta To Pack His Bags

Arsenal seems to want to add another Brazilian to their squad as Mikel Arteta has endorsed Arsenal’s push to sign Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta, Paqueta has had a stellar season having moved to France after a failed stint at AC Milan.

Arsenal are keen to add another midfielder to Mikel Arteta’s squad before the end of the window and have largely been focused on Tielemans and Zinchenko but those leads have gone cold so they have to move on to other targets.

Paqueta is also wanted by Newcastle, and like we saw with his Lyon teammate Bruno, the magpie's buying power is able to compete with Arsenal and will have to act fast if they want to secure his signiture.

Paqueta was one of Lyon’s star performers last season with nine goals and six assists and was voted as the best foreign player in Ligue 1 which has boosted his stock. Lyon is looking to cash in big time and is asking a €80 million (£67.6m) transfer fee but Arsenal believe a deal could be agreed for significantly less having had a good relationship with Lyon.

Personally, I see this as way too much money for a player who may or may not have a big impact, the same mistake we made with Pepe and I would avoid this deal.

If you are going to go for a Lyon player why not go for Aouar, who is far cheaper and has the qualities Arsenal are looking for and won't be that big a risk.
