Talks With Akturkoglu Advance

avatar

Three weeks ago I mentioned Arsenal was looking to poach Turkish Winger Akturkoglu from Galatasary and now it looks like they're in talks to bring him to London. At a modest £17m at current standards, it looks like a great deal for a player who is growing in strength, and with Turkey not doing so well its money Galatasaray may not be able to refuse.

The winger is a tricky dribbler with lots ability to get behind the fullback and whip in crosses which I think he would do making the left side his own while Saka takes the right.

This frees up Smith Rowe to take on the 10 with Odegaard and Martinelli the striker position, which would be an interesting set up. I would also like to see a big number 9 come in who can benefit from those crosses too.

Arsenal are also thought to be interested in signing Raphinha from Leeds but the Brazilian has had some high profile suitors and a massicve £62m release clause, which I don't think Arsenal want to risk having made that mistake on Pepe.

Speaking of Pepe he is now in the shop window for 25million so if we can move him on and bring in Aktu we cover his fee and have 7 million to spare. Of course, you're taking a massive loss on the 72 paid-for pepe, but I hope it's a reminder for Arsenal to do proper scouting.

Dear @chekohler , How do you think the English Premier League has to do with the global economy?

We can see the money is drying up in these sports as they not as free spending as they once were but I don't think sport is really any indicator of the economy

Dear @chekohler, I think the world of professional sports, including the Premier League, is slavery maintained by the players' ransom.
A soccer team with a large number of star players will receive a higher advertising fee.
