Arsenal Continue To Struggle For Midfield Bodies

Arsenal has begun to trim the deadwood in their squad and while on the books there are still seven center midfielders, three have been sent out on loan, and two clearly don't make the cut anymore.

Mohammed Elneny is at that of his contract come this season and will move on either way, even if he does not get a deal finalized in January.

While former captain Granit Xhaka who usually starts as the player alongside Partey, cannot be relied upon due to his suspension and injury issues. Despite taking Maitland Niles on loan, AS Roma has reportedly reignited interest in the midfielder. A league I think would be better suited to his passing ability and his slow way of playing.

So that leaves Sambi and Partey as the only two really staking a claim for a midfield spot and that's far too little. Arsenal have been linked with

• Arther Melo - Juventus, a deal I think won't be finalized as Juve want a permanent transfer
• Aaron Ramsey - Juventus, a deal I think won't happen as there is interest from other clubs and we need a long term replacement
• Ruben Neves - Wolves, This one looks more likely as Wolves look to shake up their squad, but im not convinced he brings much that Xhaka didn't already bring
• Douglas Luiz - Aston Villa, ideally would love him to move, a 30 million bid has already been rejected.
