Arsenal Kill The Last Chance For Silverware
Arsenal threw away their last chance to win a trophy this season. Having had no European football this season domestic cups would be the target, the league was always out of contention but the FA Cup and League Cup were options. In as little as 2 weeks, both those hopes were dashed as Arsenal was knocked out of both cups.
It's especially disappointing after having 2 red cards in both games against Liverpool and the first game being a valiant fight to take a 0-0 scoreline back to the Emirates.

Arsenal didn't make their chances count when they did open up Liverpool and gave away two sloppy goals as the midfield couldn't deal with Liverpool.
Mikel and Edu have cut the squad to the bare bones and with so few players available, injuries and suspensions count for a lot more. Playing Sambi, Smith Rowe and Odegaard would be pretty light.
Arsenal has yet again had a player sent off with Tomas Partey the 12th player in a long line of players to take the walk of shame under Arteta. Luiz and Xhaka by far are the biggest culprits with one already leaving the club and I think Xhaka will leave soon too, or so I hope.
8 of the 32 losses under Arteta come in games where they have finished with less than 11 men on the pitch.

January 13, 2022 | Granit Xhaka | Liverpool (A) |
January 20, 2022 | Thomas Partey | Liverpool (H) |
Arsenal will have to play their next game without both Xhaka and Partey which is not a situation you want to find yourself in, if Lakonga gets injured Arsenal won't have a single central midfielder available.
