Arsenal One Game Away From Reaching A Semi
Arsenal faces off against Sunderland EFL Cup quarter-final which is a must-win, getting to a semi-final will be huge for this young team. Arteta will surely make multiple changes with semi-finals insight and with the weekend's game against Norwich in mind players will need a rest.
The draw has been kind to Arsenal, but that doesn't mean its a formality. Seven of the remaining eight sides in the Carabao Cup are Premier League opposition and not only did the Gunners get matched up with a League One side and on top of that we alos have home ground advantage.
When we consider that Sunderland are also vying for a return to the Championship this season under Lee Johnson, the Black Cats currently sit third in League One so their focus may be elsewhere rather than on a cup run.
Nonetheless, this is a fixture Arsenal are runaway favorites to win.
Having fielded the same starting lineup for four straight Premier League matches against Leeds, the first time since May 2015, Areta has consistency in the league and he may not want to risk that for the league cup.
This is a great chance for fringe players to push for a place in the first team like Pepe and Smith Rowe while Nketia and Balogan could get some game time too.

I believe The Arsenal should take all competitions seriously because winning a trophy at this stage no matter which one, is very good until they get to the summit. Remember Manchester City always took it seriously. However because of their opponents, there needs to be a much-needed rest for the first eleven so they can consolidate on their position in the league.
Well a cup would be a major boost for the team and even if it's not the biggest one, winning something will really help confidence and also show that the project is making progress
