Aubameyang Out Dembele In Swap

I spoke yesterday about Auba's move to Barcelona, but one hiccup I didn't mention is the transfer fee. Auba is still under contract and that means he demands a fee for a transfer. Barca need a proven striker and he can offer them that, but the Gabon international won't come cheap, he would need a transfer fee some say around $30 million, and on top of that earns a basic £250,000-a-week with bonuses on top and he is reportedly unwilling to take a pay-cut if he does leave Arsenal.

Barca are strapped for cash and stumping up 30 million is going to be tough, so Barcelona may look to get round this by offering Dembele in a swap deal, with the Frenchman only thought to be earning £30,000-£50,000 less at Barca than Aubameyang is at Arsenal.

Dembele’s Barcelona career has been something of a flop since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for a massive £97m. The France international scored 30 goals in 124 games but injury and lack of game time has seen him truly realize his great potential.

The 24-year-old has made just three La Liga appearances so far this season but still has many years ahead of him. A bonus for Arsenal is that Dembele's contract expires at the end of the season, with no new deal looking likely.

So Arsenal could negotiate pretty favourable terms, given his injury record it could be a risk, but I think it would be one worth taking.
