Greetings Hive friends, today I am going to share with you a mountain hike training on the Los Chivos route – in front of the Taguaguay lagoon, in the community of Villa de Cura, Aragua state, Venezuela.

I usually do my hiking training sessions in the afternoons and on Saturdays or Sundays I do long routes. I did this on Wednesday with my pet Negrito, who always accompanies me for these mountain training sessions, leaving at 4:30 a.m. pm, it was a little cloudy and it looked like it was going to rain because a drop was falling, I thought if it rains I'll still go up the mountain.

Starting from Lisandro Hernández avenue, I started out at a fast pace, and when I reached the bottom of the climbs I had a time of 2 minutes and 30 seconds, from there I accelerated the pace on the climbs, my pet stayed for a while. Shortly ago, when I was reaching the top where the cross is, my watch marked a time of 7:40, I did 5 seconds more than my best time, that is to say, I almost broke my own record.

On this first ascent I met a runner friend who was training, he was coming down the first ascent, then I continued walking looking at the clock to see if when I reached the second ascent of the mountain with a record of 12:00 minutes, according to this time I had chances to improve my best time which is 14 minutes and 45 seconds.

After I started to climb the third mountain, the runner friend I was doing as a circuit caught up with me, I accelerated the pace more but as he was running he kept moving away, however when he reached the top of the third mountain the clock marked a time of 14 :55 that is to say ten more seconds, I thought I would stop for a second to wait for Negrito who had stayed but continued with the same pace of walking.

Now, in this part you feel a bit of relief because I'm going down but I took advantage here to increase the pace and when I reached the Las Mercedes sector, I saw my time of 20 minutes, I think I can make a good mark until the part where the stone, then the climbs come again that make you breathe faster but you feel good because you are going at a constant pace, when you pass this climb you reach the top with 27 minutes 45 seconds, a good time because the best time was 28 minutes.

On this fourth peak of this mountain, I felt a bit exhausted due to the effort, but I was determined to improve my time, I continued walking and reached the rock with a time of 33:35, that is to say, 33 minutes and 35 seconds, this It has been my best time, because the previous one was 33:45. I stopped for a few seconds and decided to continue walking but I slowed down a bit so that Negrito would come with me.

After I passed where the stone is, I found a descent and then a small but not steep ascent, I continued advancing until I reached the front where the Taguaguay lagoon is and you can also see the Puro Lomo company that is on the road to Cagua, Sucre municipality, there I could see my watch again where I timed 41:43, almost 42 minutes of walking.

Here I rested for a few seconds because Negrito looked a little exhausted, we both hydrated ourselves, and returned home, by the same path, in these training sessions, as the weather was a bit hot, I saw that the liter and a half pot of water is insufficient , because I share the water with my pet, so in the next one I have to bring more water, to have enough to hydrate us better.

When I got home I did a total time of 1 hours and 36 minutes, it was longer because I got beyond the stone, I hope you liked this training.

If every week I go out to that mountain with my dog and take pictures in that place, today I went further than usual and when we hydrated I took the opportunity to take pictures of the dog.

did you ever see snakes when you're training for a hike? btw like Galen said, I think it'd be nice if you present pictures that are different because it looks pretty similar and I feel like I've seen it somewhere. Maybe change the object, etc despite it's the same trail.
