After leading the Western Conference this season, the Oklahoma City Thunder secured a spot in the NBA playoffs by simply defeating the defending champion Boston Celtics at TD Garden.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, this season's MVP candidate, scored no less than 34 points against the Celtics, while Chet Holmgren added 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to yet another victory over the Boston team this season.

Despite Jason Tatum's 33 points, Derrick White's 22 points and Al Horford's double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, it was not enough for the Celtics to challenge the Western Conference leader.

Both teams are on a winning streak. OKC has won 17 of its last 18 games, while the Boston Celtics have won 15 of their last 18 games. For this reason, many analysts pointed to this game as a possible preview of the NBA Finals.

However, to reach another final, the Boston team still needs to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that leads the Eastern Conference and is one of the few that can defeat the Thunder team.
