Lake Macquarie Visit : April 13 2025

Another different day lining. Driving up to Central Coast to visit a friend whose daughter's baby is due this week. Was sunny when we left Sydney. Was sunny when they set up the barbecue facing the lake

The dreary view as a big rain shower passed by

Watched this cormorant from afar - it did not change position even when there was fish action below - not seen one that big

As befits a house of ladies, I got to barbecue - a nice eye fillet, boerewors from my homeland and some chicken sausages - worked well

Sun came out and I could go walk the bike track on the edge of the lake. This is Lake Macquarie to the north of Sydney and south of Newcastle. When people asked me where to live - here on the mountain side of the lake. Every town is not far from the main Sydney to Newcastle train line. Our friends house is about where the point goes into the lake

Jellyfish caught in the low water - high tide will take it out to deep water

Lovely on a calm day

Waited for the 3 cormorants to pop uo and framed the shot

Mushroom action on the path

I have cycled the Loop the Lake ride - got a feeling this was added in after the last time I did that. We did a lot of road riding on the west side of the lake. Next time I will bring my bike

Looking south - bike path all the way there now

Across the lake - kind of peaceful but one can hear the powerststion from that side and there was a drone flying

Forgot to take photos of house for sale a few doors down - $1.2 million for lakefront - great pricing compared with 2 bed apartment in a Sydney suburb.
