Finish prep and drive to Jugiong for bike tour : March 20 2025

A busy morning ahead of planned midday departure for my bike tour. Simplified the logistics a bit as need to bring my car to the apartment to simplify loading. Smart move - get car - go to shops to get the things I need and a few things for my wife. Posted a parcel to my son. Got the bike tour stuff cleared and ready to go. Then cleared my study to move stuff out the way for carpet laying next week.

Was a little later than midday - stopped fir full and pump up aoftish back wheel. That bothered me on the drive - stopped in Goulburn to check the wheel. It was still at the right pressure - thst took pressure off me. The photo is the Big Merino there - sheep country and an Aussie thing - big statues of the local stuff

Other photo shows the tumbling cloud for the weather forecast for the next few days. Scattered cloud and some rain. Drive if the remaining 100 kms was a little more restful as I knew the tyre was not going down in an afternoon session

Ride starts at Jugiong on the Murrumbidgee River. Plan is to camp overnight as hotel and motel are fully booked. Will then leave the car here with the camping gear.

Camping is on the showgrounds which are huge. Picked a spot close to the hotel to allow for easy walking distance - a mistake as it happens. All set up and ready to roll

Dinner was booked at the motel down the road. I rode down there - had to wait as the crew had chosen to have a drink at the hotel. Drank a cold beer - wrote yesterday's short post. Bar was busy - plenty to watch

Crew arrived and we placed orders and headed to dining room upstairs - view is from there. The line of trees after the flat ground is where the Murrumbidgee River is. Dinner was good. Nice to catch up with people I have been riding with for years. Ride back in the dark - enough lights working to be seen - one at the back needs batteries- riding done

Clear starlight sky in camp - sat outside - drank some white wine I brought from home and ate a bit of cheese. In bed a little earlier than normal - that is always a mistake too. On the road
