Local Mic Night for a different Sunday : March 16 2025

Another hot day cooking up. Starting out differently with a visit from my wife's grandson

Olly has not visited much but he knows the game - find his favourite cars from the toy drawer. He always hands me a few. New routine - parks them up in neat lines. He did like sitting at the big table for his breakfast

Went walking after they left to get steps up and before we went out - this house had heaps of lizards

Each time I walk past they improve this house a little

Mushroom action on a verge - autumn is coming - amazed to see them on such a hot day 34C

Saw this development proposal sign - it talked about the Werona Heritage area - had to get pictures of the house

House is still much the way it was - never mind the green walls and the solar panels. Proposal was not about the house but about the fence and hedge. Waste of council rates - preserve the house

Another property story - old style house for sale

Photos on the sale board suggest something quite different than the front street view

Saw the sale board in the street behind. Property goes right across the whole block - this is the photo over the gate. Not sure where they got the grand view - must be side on

This is what happens to the old houses they cannot knock down. Render and paint an out of keeping colour and square up the garden with tiles

We went out to watch a friend perform in an Open Mic event at a local pub. Not been to the pub - but seen our friend perform often

This young man played a storm on the keyboards - only 9. His dad played later - was fab too

They called this segment - KC - Kids Corner. This young man played mean guitar

Our friend - Kate Lush - belting out some blues. We chatted before her 4 songs. Was clear that people noticed we were friends - we got a lot of chats from fans

Long time since we did an Open Mic session - was fab watching the musos coming in and interacting and rocking the blues. Will go again.

A very different Sunday.

Made a quick chicken curry for dinner - short circuited a few steps to get fall off the bone right, heaps of flavour and not miss too much of Australian Idol.
