Gordon treescapes walk : January 11 2025
So much for the El Nino summer predictions - another day starting with rain. Been like that most of the week. We are going out this afternoon to friends - went walking early as the clouds started to break
The blue sky came along - nice contrast with the red brick of the Greengate Hotel
Walked past this house a few times - the twisted tree gave me an idea for a theme. Suburban Gordon tree shapes
Always a few interesting shapes under the powerlines - trimmed to keep the branches away from the lines
A different style of topiary in a new old style garden
Develop V-shape to stay away from the lines. The guy parking his car under the V has got to hope the tree does not split in a storm
Never seen a magnolia tree grow up straight like that - they normally bush out sideways. This one has clearly been trained to go up and stay away from the walls and the driveway. It is happy enough - got flowers
Got wiry and spidery - no powerlines above - be free tree
Norfolk pine standing tall and straight. Used for ship masts back in the day
A bit of elevation gives a good angle to take photos of the grand trees
This grand old tree in the garden of a modernised house. Going to guess the Council put on a protection order when they did the rebuild
A few house styles in a street not walked - made this obe two storey in the same red brick
Rendered this one and went up half a level. The name says Corsica and there is a bit of European style
And then some blocky modern architect style. Walk done - a new street walked not far from home.
We had a good afternoon with friends - whether stayed dry so we could sit outside for an early bbq dinner. My mate did the cooking and my wife drove home.
