Did the grab the umbrella thing when the heavy rain stopped and drive up to North Turramurra side of Ku-ring Gai Chase NP - the place I used to cycle to from the old house. Grey spider grevillea
Looking for midge orchids. None to be found but the early opening pine-leafed geebung make up for it
Cicada sound was high - closest I could get for a photo - a bit of zoom needed

A calm day made it possible to get photos of this tiny pink flower. It is onna long stalk and blows around in the breeze. A centaury - maybe a slender centaury

Purple fringe flower - a favourite
Found a few
This one close to the ground offers a good background for focus
Love this walk - it is exposed- no traffic noise and scribbly gums
Conesticks flower - just a few
Got some flashes if blue above the powerlines
Narrow leafed hemigenia close to the ground
Pea flower with a tinge of orange - not noticed these before
More grey spider grevillea - this one in better shape

Well - did find an orchid - seeded hyacinth orchid but no midge orchids

Fully open - all on one bush - more yellow

Walk done - brolly needed a bit only. Good to get walking out of the rain.
Did pay the price of not being prepared - went out in sandals. Copped a leech. Never had one from those tracks - boots tomorrow
Dinner: Pizza cooked on bbq outside. Did not like the GF bases bought the day before

Is it true that snakes can be found anywhere in Australia and no one kills them?
Lots of snakes. I see maybe 6 or 7 a year. They scoot away pretty quickly. Why kill them out there? Been a long while since I have seen one close to our home.

We have lots of protected bushland all over the country. Somewhere back in time some smart people set the land aside.
