Shoalhaven day - shops, memories and river scenes : December 14 2024

Steamy day cooking up. Not exactly motivating for a bike ride in the heat and humidity. My wife was heading out to do some shopping - tagged along. First stop a boutique she got some nice stuff from last year

Took a photo of the shopping centre. Why? It is the one closest to where my son lives and I cannot visit him. My wife found some clothes and we did the weekly shop

Headed back to Nowra for a few things. Photo of the old fire station without car parked in front

Never noticed the pub on this corner - the Postman's Tavern

Another Nowra angle - a new mural started in top left hand corner - the significance is Nowra is the Aboriginal word for the black cockatoo

Went out on the bike to get a few beach and river angles. Up Seven Mile Beach toward Gerroa

Watched a kite flyer getting ready to take off to the south. Got a kite and a big fan motor strapped on his back. Uses the fan to get lift and the kite to go downwind. Motor back saves the big walk.

Play time across the Shoalhaven River

Plenty of drift wood to make structures

Fishing action with the grey heron

Did get the kite flower in view flying back into the wind

View down the river to where the mouth would be if it was open to the sea

View back to Coolangatta Mountain up the river

Swamp lily - becoming an expert on these

Easy little loop ride for 5 kms and flat

Did the lawn strimming in the cooler part of the day - still steamy

Got the Strava update. Most of those kms came in March and October.

Dinner: Spaghetti bolognese
