Ku-ring Gai Wildflower Garden: December 4 2024

Fitbit sync has become a mess - going to guess it has to do with migration to Google. My steps for yesterday were well over 10k - showing only 8k. Short post to get things done

Slow morning - drive to Ku-ring Gai Wildflower Garden - short drive and easy walk and certain orchids. Also labels on a lot of the plants - swamp lily

Noisy with cicada activity. Narrow leafed hemigenia

Quite a few spots for hyacinth orchids though it was clear half had not got to flowering - fungal droop got them

Bark shedding season is on us. Time for the tree to get a bit bigger in girth and then grow new bark

Garden includes a protected zone for a flower that can open anytime now till late January - about here

Got excited when I saw this bud. Walk back photo shows a different leaf structure to the protected orchid

Give away was the flower spike next to this - hyacinth orchid.

Eye for detail is what one learns. This is a sprouting seedling lifting up the seed husk as it rises
