Blackbutt Creek hyacinth orchids budding : November 27 2024

A different day lining up. Forecast to get to 37C is one thing. Also planning to drive down to Shoalhaven Heads for a few days. Plan for that is to load my car and drive into City - change cars and leave my car in the office car park.

With hot day coming - got my car from its garage and drove down to Blackbutt Creek to do my walk. Then drive back to our block to load. Hoping to find hyacinth orchids open - as close to open today

The wallabies dug up the 4 plants that were here

A first time taking a photo of this flash of yellow. No idea if it belongs here or escaped from a garden

Did find a few more hyacinth orchids budding

Buds for this one are somewhat stunted - no idea why

A few bonnet orchids open - this one was super tall

Took quite a few photos of the bonnet orchid. Flower is the size of a thumbnail - most were out of focus. This little yellow flower is half the size of a US penny - and camera coped

Not a lot of water going down Blackbutt Creek - need rain

Light over the shoulder makes easier work for this bonnet orchid - cryptostylis erecta

Different version of Christmas balls - think the plant is an invader

Find the lizard photo - each time I was ready for photo - it moved away from the track

Fruit frond forming on the palm on kerbside

Sure pleased I got the walk done as the afternoon went stinking hot. Timed drive into city well and we did change over in 5 minutes. That 5 minutes evaporated with a huge thunder storm and heavy rain.

Was good to get out of town and hear the sea
