Gordon Creek ride and walk : October 13 2024

Was one of those days - hard to get motivated to go for a bike ride. Iffy weather forecast does not help. Wrote up the week's investing stuff - the weeks are flying by. Was a time I wrote this every day - now once week. This weekend in the premier sports car race in Australia - the Bathurst 1000. Watched the prelude to the start and the start

Did get out on the bike - headed to walk Gordon Creek as that had me on the right side of Pacific Highway to make it easy to get to the shops on the way home. Context photo - walk into Garigal NP on a track not walked

Fire trail is a steep drop down to Gordon Creek which feeds Middle Harbour Creek. Got a few glimpses of that. Guessing it is a drop of 200 metres to get to the water.

Did find one orchid - a bit hard to get a front on photo of the last flower open. All seeded from below. Red bearded orchid - calochilus paludosus

The next photo challenge - hibbertia also grabs the light - two different light situations

Made it down to the old Gordon Creek bridge. Was built as a bridge to carry the sewerage line.

Too bad they let the old bridge rot away when they did the new pipeline crossing. Quite a walk to get down to the creek now. Chose not to do that. Time to walk back and head home

Found one pea flower still going on the way up. Followed the bike route signs to get back to Gordon for the few shopping items needed.

Bit by bit getting to know the roads to cycle. Not sure I will walk that track for orchids again - too steep and saw one orchid only and no evidence of others.

Did the shops. Watched the end of the motor race in stages.
