Berry Beach Coast ride day 3 for GCC2024: October 3 2024

Day started out a little cool for the early bike ride I had in my mind. My wife was gone early to meet her knitting and craft group. Got my head down and did the investing stuff until it warmed up a bit. I left the winner warmer stuff in Sydney

Day plan was to ride a loop with a few hills and loop back to Seven Mile Beach. Photo from the start of the road to Berry with a view of Coolangatta Mountain

One of the hills - not big but my body is struggling with any exertion. Got a feeling there is some atrial fibrillation happening. Stop to take photos is a good excuse to catch breath

Was going to step into Seven Mile Beach NP to look for orchids but saw a cyclist up ahead. Was a young lady riding from Sydney to Melbourne for Royal Flying Doctor Service. We chatted for quite a few kms. She was very focused and doing super well. Sorry - no photo

Longest ride for a while and a little more lumpy

We headed into Berry Markets late to get some fruit and veges. Then made a return drive via Gerringong to visit Stoic Brewery

We have driven past the sign heaps of times in the last 2 years. They open from 4pm to 8pm with happy hour to 6pm. Noce views from upstairs to the Southern Highlands - windows too dirty for photos.

Walked in and were greeted by Peter who used to work at Shoalhaven Heads Hotel. He is a keen photographer and we have one of his photos of the river in our house. He was there to run the weekly Cornhole competition

Simple game - throw a bean bag across the room onto the ramp. Points for bag that stays on the ramp and more for bags that go in the cornhole

We had one drink - watched a warm up game - and headed home. Next time we will get there closer to game time especially after clocks change

Dinner: Cottage pie
