One hat dining in Shoalhaven Heads plus a few orchids : September 19 2024
Got a different day lined up. My wife headed off early for her craft group. Then we are going for lunch to start her birthday celebrations
Reataurant is just below the Shoalhaven Heads surf life saving club. Photo from there looking south to Crookhaven Heads
Our village is lucky to have a one hatted restaurant. A few years back we had a birthday celebration in Far Meadow where the chef lives. He just launched Faw Meadow Table lunches at Bangalay Dining
A few photos - freshly baked gluten free bread with artichoke puree
Entree was a duck pie with a subtle mandala sauce (not gluten free)
Main course was baked snapper with pomme anna and a summer relish. Forgot photo of the dessert. Lunch was good. Service was good. Got to say I could easily have made the whole meal wheat free
The sugar in dessert whacked my body. Not for nothing that I now avoid sugar especially if I want to get stuff done
Had a short nap and then gout out on the bike to ride to the front end of Seven Mile Beach tracks
Black eyed susan escaped from the gardens
Did explore the greenhood orchid sites - all finished. Did find pink fingers orchids. The ID challenge continues. Looks like catenata - pink form - not seen a white one at all
Fabulous afternoon light in the big trees
Next is a bit different - petals are more dumpy and there is a tinge of yellow in the back calli
Dumpy fingers continue - carmine bands suggest caladenia carnea. Yellow tip matches the catenata
Back to plain - no colour tip, no bands, same dumpy leaves, no yellow calli
A little more pink on the labellum and a few yellow calli at the back - suggests caladenia hilmanii
Obligatory photo of native violet - almost always one to be found
Keep rolling the differences - this one has the yellow tip
And zoom shows yellow at the back. Looks a bit central to be calli - maybe pollonia
Deeper shade of pink - feels like something different
Changed the angles to see the yellow calli at the back. Got to say the struggles with getting decent photos is leaning to changing tools. Going to need a backpack to carry the serious camera and lenses
A few photos of the setting sun and the big trees
Tree down on the path back. Has been a few days as there is a track around already
That diversion offered up the view of thus craggy tree
Good to get a ride and walk in after a heavy lunch
Dinner was leftovers
Trade action: Bought SASK.V, 1164.HK - still loading up on uranium. Adjusted CHPT, GLE.PA, AI.PA, BROS

I have learned to stay away from sugar. Not a lot of choice on a 3 course lunch. I much prefer going a’la carte and skipping the sugar. And the bush always brings good medicine
Only sugar I have is a little in morning coffee, other than that enough in fruits I enjoy. Plants and nature most natural medicine for all.
Well, now I want to eat too... Your meal photos are too delicious 😄
Tasty food bro , The beach is also beautiful. amazing shots
