Azalea season breaks and a few home orchids : September 12 2024

Was one of those days. Late night trading to get some payments done and Microsoft update failed on my PC. I wonder how the man in the street deals with this stuff. Maybe it is a conspiracy to keep IT geeks employed. Took a while for this IT geek to get a computer working. Did get the payment done - not simple either. Made for a late night and a slow start.

That got in the way of getting out for a ride. Did take photos of new orchids at home - these are special as they survived the move and flowered. Especially special as they did not flower last year - dockrilla linguiformis

The indoor moth orchid also started flowering. This has been in budding form for over 4 months. It is flowering from a spike that I snipped to see if it would flower again

Hard to get a good photo angle as the bud in front is in the way. Not going to try to bend it away - they just snap off.

My wife and I went out shopping to our favourite emporium to buy herbs and nuts and dried fruit. Stopped in Chatswood on the way back for shopping. Bought sushi for lunch. Was good for both of us to get out

Was well after 3pm by the time I got out to walk - just started to rain as I did that. Got to get steps done. That cut the walk idea short

Did the short loop through a cut through just below our place - azaleas are fabulous

Do need to give camera time to hold the focus. Lovely in pink

They have tidied up this cut through - miss it every time I walk down the hill. Opens up a few houses I have not seen. An interesting double azalea in this garden with the orange clivia in front

This is the bottom of that garden. Big drop to the garden and a steep drive. Imagine that years ago the low pount was a creek - now a drain

From the front it looks like a bungalow. The slope hides the two levels with parking down below

Rain started not.long after. Got the steps in to squeeze over 5k.
