Exploring Pymble and the track back to Gordon : August 31 2024

Late night watching cycling makes for slow start to the day. Wrote up the investing stuff. Sent the last emails for AI Millionaire launch closing midnight. Did the work but got no buyers

Have friends visiting early afternoon. Did the train ride up to next station to check out the footpath I saw from the train. A few old style houses lower down from station than walked before

House next door is similar. Interested ti see quite a few of the old houses still standing next to the railway line. Maybe old-timers still living there or families with girls at Pymble Ladies College

House for sale down the hill about where the footpath cuts back to the railway line - sale board is a little out of focus

Developer target - need to get the one behind going up to railway line and build apartments. Or sell to PLC family

Did find the cut through footpath. It is a bit rough to ride the bike - push for 200 metres. And a bit steep to cycle the other way. Will take my chances coming down the highway

Surprised to find we have a hotel in Gordon - not noticed it before. Good to know as the next one down the highway is further away

Walked around the back of the library building - was originally a school - classic sandstone building

A memorial to Arthur Philip - leader of the First Fleet - did not know it was here

Detail photo of the plaque and then notice the bricks below. They came from Arthur Philip's house in England

Round the corner to the original school building - the oldest school in Ku-ring Gai council area

Got the steps in. Found the access path possibilities and found a little more local history.

Friends, neighbours from our previous home, came over for drinks late afternoon. They stayed a while - made a quick tapas dinner to keep things moving along well.
