Greenhood orchids from Seven Mile Beach NP : August 15 2024

Late night watching Tor de France Femmes and watching US markets open makes for a slow start. My wife headed out to her knitting group early. Got on top of the investing stuff and some Internet Marketing - that is slow stuff right now. So much to do.

Did get on the bike to walk Seven Mile Beach NP - first orchid was right where I park my bike. Seen the leaves before. Blunt-tipped greenhood

These do not match the orchid that flowered - two types close by

These are the matching leaves - pterostylis curta

Always a native violet on these walks

New spot for tall greenhood - bunochilus longifolia - was low to ground and hard to photograph

Managed to get close enough photos without triggering the labellum and disturbing the spider. Going to guess the spider had the labellum woven open
