Rainy day and deck flowers - steps doing shopping : April 30 2024

Wake to a rainy day. Was hoping to be able to travel south. Nice luck with that as car is going back to service centre tomorrow. Not happy with the new exhaust.

Steps for the day come from routine stuff. Did get out to shops - good test of how the exhaust is. Got a rattle on any big change in revs - rattles. Not convinced all the gaskets are good either

Too much rain to go for a walk - just did the shopping. Photos from the courtyard - a new gardenia flower formed. This is a story of its own. The new place has different bugs - have had to keep them at bay - never bothered in the old place. This plant has been attacked by mealy bug - forms a white powder on the leaves and stalks

Pelargonium like the new spot - less sun during the day as it sits behind the block next door most of the time

Dancing ladies orchid is going strong - a fun photo with water making for a flowing form fitting of a dancing lady

Lobelia growing in with the mother-in-laws tongue. It is happier too as it is getting a bit more sun

This little flower pops up in amongst the dendrobium orchids - the orchid leaves showing the pressure of bugs here - dendrobium beetles are the villain

Could not choose which was the best photo - you decide

Part of the shop was to find something a little different to cook. Will not let the fact that I am on my own get in the way of cooking good food. Ingredients lined up - spatchcock butterflied. Peri peri seasoning - cooking on bbq indirect - like the oven but smoky

The other part is grated potato and onion. Going to airfry as a rösti - not done this before

Looked good with a mini salad - greens from the hydroponics
