Blackbutt Creek orchids on a tough anniversary : April 21 2024
A blue sky day. April 21 is always a tough day - a day that changed my life. The sky was blue. Kept busy doing the options expiry accounts. Then went for a walk down to the bush in the late afternoon
St Johns Church against the blue sky
Got my phone back from my son but I had not checked it was charged - was not - sorry the photos are a bit blurry
Still no buds on the chiloglottis orchids - guessing they are formicifera - they flower late
Did find a few more greenhood clusters on the uphill side of the creek - guessing nutans
Spied these orchid leaves and a cluster of mini mushrooms
And close by was the first of the season's mosquito orchids. Acianthus fornicatus - the best photo I could get with this phone
Mushroom in mini
Lambertia formosa - surprised to see one flowering so late
More greenhood rosettes
A flower spike
Sharp greenhood - pterostylis acuminata - new location
A new location a bit further along
Tracking back - a different rosette
The longer leaf stalk suggests nodding greenhood
Another new spot- rosette and flower spike
Just budding. Greenhood, yes. Hard to ID - next week
This rosette is different to the others. Will be back to see as the weeks pass. Got a feeling it is something special
Small nodding greenhood - better photos next walk
Pterostylis hispidula
Good to get out walking on this day. Was 18 years ago that I walked away from 25 years of marriage. Always a tough day
Our house guest cooked dinner - Massaman curry was a good way to have the day off cooking
