A day for Mini Flowers in Seven Mile Beach NP : January 22 2024

A new week. A cloudy and cooler day after the stinker from the day before. Caught up with the weekend options expiry for the pension portfolio.

Weather started to get a little like it wanted to rain. Got on the bike to walk middle section of Seven Mile Beach NP. Every walk here has a native violet flowering.

I do look for themes to photograph. Was not expecting a lot of orchids but there lots of these. I always thought it was an invasive weed but one of my friends says it is local. Well this one is a long way away from.any garden it could have escaped from

The theme might be set from this flower. I am told it is an undescribed species - not had that proved either way - looks like it is related to dyanella

Twining glycine fits the theme emerging - tiny flowers

Lobelia is equally tiny - is that all there is going around?

Did find a blotched hyacinth orchid seeded. 2nd plant in a known spot

Did walk to the beach - looking north to Gerroa. Sea was pretty chopped up

Looking south toward Shoalhaven Heads

The navy airbase is down the road in Nowra - there was flying happening

Tiny yellow flower in the dunes

Did find a remnant orchid flowering - last time there were 10 plants - now one and the best photo was from behind - dipodium variegatum

Back to tiny. I saw the purple. I said - too hard to photograph as it is so tiny. Turned back = maybe the best photo of the day

I did know there was a chance of a better orchid photo - one plant still going

Got the ride done - found a few orchids at the end of their season and it was not as hot as Hades

Dinner: Friend came over for dinner - cooked steak and sausages on the bbq. Not my best effort but it was nice to be out in the open cooking

Trade action: Covered call season. Will take a few days to see what cash is available for investing - best wait for the next #tib bulletin
