Shoalhaven Heads Botanic Garden ferns + : January 21 2024

Forecast is for a hot day. Good reason to have a slow start. The local Botanic Garden was having a plant sale - they do them a few times a year. Drove down there to have a look see

Garden has a wide range of ferns of different types - caught a few

Always fascinated by staghorns - how they hold on

Some have a huge fibrous ball that lodges in a tree fork

Bird tree fern at the foot of the frog statue

These ferns are sorest all over the local national park

The centre of the photo is a mini version of the two big ones either side

Worth visiting if you are down Shoalhaven Heads - takes 45 minutes to walk around

Drove up to Mountain Ridge Estate ti update address change details and to ouck up some wine - great views toward Berry

Stayed hidden away in the ac all afternoon as temperature pushed well over 30C. Did get out on the bike around 6pm to get the steps in

Pleased I got out. GPS shows 37C - no breeze. It was a bit more comfortable in the shaded bush. Was sure pleased when the Southerly change came along

Dinner: Prawns stir fried

Into the ratatouille made the day before with a little Mountain Ridge Estate rose

Served with pasta and parmesan cheese. Yum
