Hyacinth orchids in Seven Mile Beach NP : December 26 2023

We decided to head down to Shoalhaven Heads on Boxing Day - time to take a break from moving and the hustle bustle. Going to have visitors from Thursday - grandson Ollie is coming to visit. Good chance my granddaughter will come visit too

Traffic was good - almost record time driving down. Gave me good time before the rain to go for a ride and orchid hunt

Does not take long for the cabbage palms to grow back

Went to a known spot for hyacinth orchids - one still flowering

Slender hyacinth orchid - dipodium variegatum

A few weeks back I saw green buds like this and could not ID. This obe is easier as it has spots below the buds - dipodium variegatum

Found a few more flowering on the way back - one was a new spot

One last slender hyacinth orchid not far from the start of the walk

Storm rumbled over all the time of the walk. The mountain is a good bellwether - rain was not down there the whole time I was out.

Pleased to getbiut on the bike and into the bush - sure miss that in the new place

Friend came over with her dog - a fee glasses of bubbles. I cooked bbq lamb chops - they did not want eat

Late night catching up with updating stock prices for last week.
