Trip to the city - Kings Cross scenes : November 28 2023

Got to say motivation to get the moving by inches stuff done today was low. Not helped by washing machine dying on its first cycle. Machine has some age and did not like the move. My wife headed out to get a replacement organised - Cyber Monday is a good day to have to do that. Machine arrives this week and they will take the old one away

Brazilian walking lily popped out a new flower - they only last one day but push out new buds every few days - the third since we moved

We got two flowers again - will be finding two pots to get the new plants propagating where the bud lays on the ground

With big rain forecast planned meetup with a friend got a change of venue - train to Town Hall and then Kings Cross - first time catching a train from Gordon

Platform view - getting to grips with the timetabling. The next train on that platform heads to Hornsby = north of here. As I sat there the announcement said the Hornsby train on that platform goes via Central = goes south to the city and then north

Yep that is where I should have been.

Did not matter as I still had time to walk King's Cross and Potts Point a bit. It is a hodge podge of modern and sixties - like this

Fountain at the end of Darlinghurst Road with its mini park- quiet today as it was raining

Christmas tree is up and ready

View from the bottom side of the Park across the kids playground

A few old time quirky buildings on the way down the hill toward the harbour - scenes from former times

Two old time hotels side by side - yellow

And weather beaten

We met in Potts Pott Hotel which is a little more upbeat than the places in the photo. A few drinks - a lot of chat and a modest steak lunch. Chat went all over the place - my friend is a flat earther and has strong views on the vax, good thing as I do too - great catch up

A little orchid excitement when I got home - new flowers on the oncidium orchid - a hybrid.

As we both had lunch out, dinner was a do it yourself affair

Moving tasks done - got a few things moved into the storage cage - maybe in a day more I will have cleared the one parking spot we have. It feels like stuff that is downstairs and not yet unpacked deserves the bin or a charity shop

Trade action: Bought ABN.AS, DBK.DE. Sold PAK.
