Tongue orchids on Kalkari Trail : November 14 2023
Times are busy - not really motivated to make stuff happen for a move I do not want to make. Made a plan to do some of the key recycling stuff. Went down to hardware store to dump power tool batteries, buy more boxes and buy stuff to fix gutter guard I had to open up to get plants out of the gutters.
Went out after that to do the shopping and go for a walk. Mission was orchids - first of the conesticks flowering
Budding tongue orchid may be the orchid of the day. Hope not

Now this might be something different. Part of me says it is a bonnet orchid. But it has no leaf evident - have seen cryptostylis hunteriana here before. Mission for next week - spot is marked

Small luxury of being in the car - can stop along the way to explore stuff. Under the powerlines looking for horned orchids - none found
Continuing the theme - drove to the Regional Office and walked down below to a known spot of the road - flash of pink

Makes for a good time out. Shopping done. Recycling done. Walk in. A few orchids found. Fresh air gained

13k steps while crushing moving chores and getting in another nice walk is legit. That last rose hyacinth orchid had got to be my favourite of the lot. Wish I had orchids up here and the flowers are mostly laying low for the winter.
A friend is doing a steps challenge for cancer this month. I said I would sponsor $10 every day I went under 10k and every day he did more than my days over 10k. Gets one stepping out a bit. About 50:50 now - I got orchids to find - he does not
What a great idea and nice thing to do. I wonder how many sponsorships I could do personally or with my Hive business account that I had them track on Hive. Attention for a reason is why we are here right?
Doing stuff for charity adds a little motivation. there are days I would rather sit - but then the charity genie says = get out. Not yet had anybody send any Hive for my sponsorships.
Fresh air, open sky and flowers always something to do in between the 'normal', love the colour of the rose hyacinth orchid.

Thanks. Glad I made a plan to see it - knew it would be open but normally I cycle up the hill to see it.
Taking a drive on a busy day, never a problem for simple enjoyment in keeping an eye on the blooms.
