Shoalhaven Heads with my granddaughter : October 28 2023
A day in a few parts. Headed into Nowra to see if I could find a charger cable for my FitBit - an important part of these daily posts. My son had offered a compromise for me to get a photo with my granddaughter. We planned to meet at the local Heads Hotel and go for a walk
The good news is they did arrive and we got our walk. The pelicans were happy as the fisher folk had fish at the boat ramp

Looking north to Gerroa
Never did to get a photo with Scarlett in my arms - been a year. Did get the dummy out - this is a long story. The best way to earn some free time with a baby = let someone else hold them
The small win is they did come to visit
Went out for a late ride to seek solace in the bush. I remember the impact my nephew made on my grumpy father - Scarlett's mum will not allow us that privilege. My son deserves better
Seeded orchid was lining up for the orchid of the day
Became a day for little flowers
This one half the size of the one before - smaller than a penny
Blueberry ash - not noticed them before
Fringe clearly visible from below
Stepped back photo to show the leaf
Did find orchid of the day on the roadside on the way back. Not open but identifiable as a rose hyacinth orchid - seen this on the roadside before
The ride and walk was good for my state of mind. I hold thumbs my son has lots of patience - he well need it.
Sunset images over the mountain from our house. In time I will use the drone to get unobstructed photos of the mountain
Dry enough after the rain the day before to strim the back grass
Dinner: Cottage pie.

Thanks. She is a lovely girl with piercing blue eyes and happy to smile
Man you have become my go to for orchids for sure. I wish they grew where I go for a walk but I know I can find them when you get @actifit out.
I guess fall mushrooms are a different kind of spectacle to behold. I will get put snd shoot some aitumn flowers today for Sublime Sunday i think!
14k steps is legit!
Mushrooms make good subjects. Apparently something like 80% that grow in Australia have not been formally identified. I have a cycling friend in South Africa who is mushroom keen. She always asks for pictures of the undersides for ID
Photo work is always hard as light is invariably low
