More finger orchid confusion : September 16 2023

Quiet morning on a day steaming up warm well ahead of summer time. Wrote up some of the overnight options expiries.

Headed out on the bike after lunch to reach the South Access sand track of Seven Mile Beach NP. First stop is a small track heading west off the main road. Disappointed to find a fly tip of building rubble right on the track

There were a few orchids starting right at the bike park. Same challenge on fingers orchids as the day before - small variations. Hard to tell the features as the flower is closing. Green column and that yellow spot on the front of labellum suggest caladenia catenata. Not conviced about the dumpy leaves

Walked that a bit and found a few more fingers orchids.

Headed further to the beach access. Access road is closed on account of a pollution event. Maybe the sewerage line broke. Walked around the road closed sign and walked the track that runs parallel to Gerroa Road.

This one is open. The dumpy fingers get me - everything else is caladenia catenata

This one is different. Calli on the labellum go all the way down the labellum and there is a red column

Good to stretch the legs a bit on the bike

My wife got back after the open house. It was like a TV drama. The neighbour put their house on the market too and their agent picked a time 30 minutes earlier with no advertising. Their agent was seen encouraging visitors to go next door - unconscionable condict are the words in the real estate agent regulations. There will be steps taken.

Dinner: Thai style red chicken curry.
