First greenhoods on Murrua Trail : August 25 2023
Finally got last week's investing post out. Pottered around for a while at home. Did get out on the bike after lunch to check an orchid location a friend shared
First up is the greenhood the wallaby had trodden on in the last week - it is now open - blunt-tipped greenhood
Two flowers open and 3 more buds of pterostylis curta
Budding orchid in grass next to the old age home lower down than I normally walk - saw two
Sun orchid not quite fully open down that side
Probably the one my friend saw. Looks like thelymitra ixioides without spots. Not checked column photos to be sure
Close up
Back to main track - a few more sum orchids open - new on the left
The main attraction from last week is now fully open with all buds open
Side on
Close up for that column comparison
Patersonia iris and then I headed down the side trail
Hibbertia - so many variants too
First time opening this season
Pink wax flower
In the track steps- hairy spike tells me this may be caladenia alata
This one too. They are known here
Flying duck orchid bud - counted 3 in this spot and one further down
Pink wax flower or white form of boronia- not sure
This is a caleana bud - leaf highlighted
Sun orchid from last week just opening on the way back
Peek inside
Walked a different section back looking for waxlips - found a nice cluster in a new spot
Caladenia glossodia
A few different shades from purple to pink
Twins on a sandy base
Kept going down that side of the powerlines instead of on the path - got this new opener there
Close up - thelymitra ixioides
Back on the Murrua Trail close to the houses another
Stopped for a pee. Right there was this glossodia - going pale - maybe the first stage of closing
Back to bike park area where the greenhoods are is a section for pink sun orchids - 5 plants and 2 budding
Good recce ride seeing 2 new buds for the coming week or so.
Dinner: My wife came home from Cabramatta with fresh snapper. My job to cook. Simple dish with onion, garlic, cherry tomatoes, a little wine and chicken stock. Make a broth - slot in the whole fish for 5 mins a side. Stir in fresh basil and serve with pasta or mash
Trade action: Bought ADYEN.AS - could not help myself after 40% drop last week

I like flowers rather the rare ones, where I live there is only pure grass for the most part.
(not to say almost all of it)
Good for the flowers, especially the pterostylis curta 🌷
A mi me gustan las flores más bien las raras, donde vivo solo hay puro pasto en su mayoría.
(por no decir casi todo)
Bien por la flores en especial la pterostylis curta 🌷
