Fringed midge orchids out West Head Way : March 31 2023

Wake to a stunning sunny day. Plan for the day is to walk on West Head side of Ku-ring Gai Chase NP and then do shopping after in Belrose. My wife headed off to see her brother and father on his birthday - 92 today. Was a little later moving than the grand idea but I did want to miss the school zones at 2:30 on the way back

Walked just one track - Bairne track looking for parsons bands orchids that I had seen the day before on our local track. First up - fringe lily

Next up is a geebung. Lance-leaf geebung. It is quite different as there are only a few flowers on the spike

Persoonia lanceolata - side on is quite hairy

Guessing this is one of those puff mushrooms - not looked up the ID

Found one midge orchid still flowering - hard to photograph on a bright windy day

Serrated edges to leaves - flower not as well developed

They catch the light really well

Fringe lily on the way back. Disappointing not to find any parsons bands orchids - not even a leaf. Must say it was a good walk. I chose not to walk to the rainforest as I wanted to get shopping done and headed home before school zones. That worked by doing one shop only.

Mowed the front lawn. Started to rake the back lawn and remembered the neighbours were coming over for a drink. Mowed the back lawn after finishing the raking.

We sat outside on a lovely evening and shared a few glasses. Turned into a bit of a dinner event - simple fare - prawn hargows, gyozas and Punjabi samoosas. Good way to wrap up what has been an iffy week.

Trade action: Fiddled more with UBSG.SW credit spread. Would have been better to leave it alone a few days back.
