Road Trip back through Blue Mountains : March 26 2023
Another bad night. Wake to a clear blue sky day. Said farewell to our weekend companions and headed out for a slowish road trip back to Sydney
A little shopping in Cowra with a few old buildings still in use
Drove up to the lookout above the Japanese Gardens with great views over the town
Out over the Lachlan River valley - we cycled along the foothils on Friday

Stopped at Lyndhurst village fair - never seen a primitive campground sign - lots of rules
Not a lot to inspire at the fair. Kids dancing was nice. Grand old Chevvy. Back on the road
Stopped in Bathurst for coffee and a snack. Pies might have been award winning in the local show but the coffee went into the flower beds
Stopped above Lithgow for a driver change. Nice to see the kids using the bike park facilities. Appreciably cooler as we climbed into the Blue Mountains.
Dropped into Katoomba to visit a friend who runs an art gallery there. We chatted a while - would have liked to look for orchids but it was not politic to do so.
Church school right in town. Was good to see lots of people about. Last time the town was dead through the Covid times
Was a good weekend away. Riding was a challenge. Friendships were fab.
Dinner: Made pizza - keep it simple.
