Darri Track Rambling - Greenhoods on the Way : March 3 2023

Late night extracts a price especially when the garbage trucks arrive before daylight. It stood for a while - neighbour had chopped a huge branch into his bin. Going to guess it was too heavy for standalone loading - needed a human to get out the van.

Frittered the morning away - got too many projects going plus some new investing streams - more below. Brain feels like the rabbit in the headlights. When it gets too much I hit small wins - mostly in the garden

Walked Darri Track late - clear the head. First photo is a very small lobelia - each flower petal is about the length of a basmati rice grain

Creek is now running under the causeway - not over the top . Creek used to be known as Deep Creek - now South Branch Cowan Creek

Pea flower - twining glycine - very small

Never know what will be orchid of the day. Bonnet orchid headed to seed is the first of the day

Heading into autumn is mushroom season

Two versions of NSW coral heath flower - white

Tinges of pink. Leaf structure looks close enough to being the same

Headed into a special corner of rainforest - open enough canopy for orchids - greenhoods are emerging - most likely nodding greenhood

Orchid of the day did turn out to be a bonnet orchid - lots of leaves and one flower spike - cryptostylis erecta

More mushroom action and an acianthus orchid leaf below - heart shaped leaf on the ground

Looped around back toward the track - more greenhood leaves. Only took one photo but there are two or threee types here - maybe pterostylis grandifloris - cobra greenhood

2nd walk this week capturing one of these - also happy to pose. Light was just in the right place

See a lot of these but do not take a lot of photos - purpurea

Saw these in two places on the track - this one closer to the houses. Easter cassia - it is a problem weed come in from South America

This was close to the houses - not a weed but often grown in gardens - coral flower

Colour is gorgeous.

Steps done - only one leech - on my hands as I stepped up to the rainforest section

My wife's brother was dropped off in the afternoon. He is disabled. Cooked for him - chicken pad Thai - kit from a box worked out really well. Better than the last one we did
