Walking Warriewood and Turimetta Headland : February 25 2023

Finally have a few days with no rain. Ae decided to go down to the beach for a change of scene. Picked up a friend and we drove the 20 kms to Warriewood Beach.

This is my old hood - dropped into a known cafe for an early lunch and coffee. We shared grilled barramundi for 2 between 3 of us. Fish was superbly cooked and inexpensive. Breeze was nice.

Looking north to Mona Vale beach and beyond. Walked into Turimetta Headland Reserve and then south to Turimetta beach. Not walked this in years

Flowers were a bit different to what I am used to

The top of the headland has some protected endangered grasses - themeda grassland. Fine for damage is a massive $220k. Wow. No video cameras that I could see

Crossed over to the south of the headland with views over Narrabeen and Collaroy Beach to the next headland south - Long Reef - and the suburb of Dee Why on the hills beyond where I used to live

Watched a kite (bird) hovering over the headland. It twitches a few tail feathers and holds in the wind.

Lovely visit out. No need to cook dinner after a nice lunch. Finished off the vine tidy up. One panel to go

Watched the start of All Quiet on the Western Front. English accents drove me nuts - like a bunch of Oxford boys. Switched to German with sub-titles - cannot follow the German well enough. At least the accents were German. The movie reminded me of all the things that were wrong with my military years. All propaganda and you will be alright mate - while they try to kill you.
