Walked Black Head Beach and Rainforest : January 12 2023

Last day of our break in Black Head Beach. My wife is still struggling with bronchitis and did not want to go anywhere. After the deliverance moment yesterday, I was not keen to go back looking for orchids that side.

Went to walk the beach all the way to Red Head side - there is a ribbon of rainforest. Looked for every access to walk it - the path the map shows is gone.

Looking back to Black Head - photo shows the cut through at the headland I wrote about two days ago

The headland on the north side - no tracks. It would not be hard to scale the cliffs to get to the next beach along. Not for me on a hot day.

An example - could use this waterfall as a pipe to get up to a walkable exit. Would need some bush bashing. No signs of orchids. Checked each exit off the beach - they all land up on Private Property. Bad luck if your house is on the inland side of those properties - drive time

Walked the dune section back - quite a lot of these succulents - we call them vygies where I come from

Found the track that does go through the rainforest away from the beach - fern for my school friend Robyn. She loved ferns

One of those private properties is an over 55 lifestyle village like the one we own. Picture over the fence - looks a lot like our place without the stairs

The rainforest track is being taken back to nature - sadly no orchids

This tree looks like the ones we see in the city under the powerlines - they get chopped to stay away from the lines above. This one is driven by nature

This big lizard was enjoying ths sun and happy to pose - a new find for me - brown lizard is my name for it

Had lunch when I got back. Then rode down to shops to get coffee and bread. Nice to have a store close by - big enough to cope with gluten free and eclectic coffee tastes. Picked this one as a friend has a branded coffee business GothRider

Dinner: BBQ. Washed down by a Shiraz from Glenrowan, Vic. I only saw after I got it home that it is from Taminack Gap Road - a short hop from my mate's house

Trade action: Banked profits on TLT shorts and set up February ratio put spread. Naked put on BROS as ling position will be called away next week. Bought VZ and set up a credit spread at price I was assigned at last week
