Bomaderry Creek Orchids on a rainy day : January 4 2023
Awake to a rainy day. Spent the morning implementing a new affiliate marketing approach - not launched yet. Went through TikTok training as a possible source of organic traffic. It is not my idea of an approach but it seems to work. The big conflict is it does not fit with the sort of customer I have been aiming for - too young. It did get me thinking.
My wife is getting more sick - cycled down to pharmacy to seek out a different approach - cycled in the rain
Took the car to fill up for our trip home tomorrow and to walk something different - Bomaderry Creek - banksia serratum in flower is a change
First theme of the day is silver and water
Maybe raindrops can be the theme - purple fan flower
It is cicada season - quiet on a rainy day - a staircase of husks
Close up.
Standard photo
Raindrop version - can almost see my reflection
Horned orchids still flowering in a spot seen a few weeks back - did find flowers on the other side of the track not seen before
One flower open on the top of one spike - orthoceras strictum
Side on
Last gasp for a tongue orchid - cryptostylis subulata - starting to yellow
New find standing tall not seen last time - under the powerlines - rose hyacinth orchid
Dipodium roseum - stripes on the labellum and white and pink tufts
The common hyacinth orchid I saw last time has pollinated and seed pod is forming
Dropped to Bomaderry Creek
Quick check on rock orchids - not flowering - maybe next time
Climbed back up to the top and the swampy bits - loofah flower
Close-up - plant is carnivorous - a bit small to get good focus on a cloudy, drizzly day
Lambertia formosa
More loofahs
Something got me thinking about tree orchids - looked up and found this one - plant already gone to seed
One more purple fan flower. Was sure pleased to get out on our last day and to find one new orchid on a track walked only once before
Bike ride to pharmacy - this is going to be the model - no car unless doung big loads or big distances or raining.
Disappointed that my wife is now sick. I would have liked to see my son again bit cannot afford to take bugs to the baby
Dinner: Chicken curry using a simmer sauce from a local supplier
Trade action: Bought TSLA - while the market hated the sales for 2022, I was impressed
