Struggle Street of Hyacinth Orchids on Wahroonga side of NP : December 7 2022
Another disturbed night - brain is churning through the challenges in my Internet Marketing business. The data is inconsistent. What I know is the stuff I am doing is not producing results. What I do not know is where the problem lies - email delivery, email messages, offers being promoted, or something else. Not the stuff to be churning when one should be sleeping.
Was thinking of riding up the other side of the National Park to look for orchids on road side. Morning turned out a bit hot to ride. Spent time working through more data on the business problem. Going to run the next cycle of solo ads on one landing page which did produce some sales last time. Will check stuff again tomorrow on domain reputation.
Rain was threatening - went for a ride to check for orchids on Wahroonga side of National Park - looking for orchids seen last year - plenty of flannel flowers found
Found bonnet orchids in a few spots - might be the orchid of the day but I am searching for hyacinth orchids
The walk goes out onto a ridge that looks across the Cockle Creek and Lovers Jump Creek junction - looking north over Cockle Creek
Looking east to the junction of the creeks
Love the detail of these small flowers on the spike.
Did not find the rose hyacinth orchids seen last year
Two tone purple fan flower
Also two tones but much closer to the core purple tone
Was on the lookout for snake orchids - found one plant in a hollow in a scribbly gum - sorry for lack of focus - or was above my head
The view to the south shows the track I often walk along Lovers Jump Creek. Did not find the hyacinth orchids this side either - there were more bonnet orchids. Headed down the other side past the MTB track to look for variegated hyacinth orchids
Found them budding in a spot seen last year - hard place to photograph as the slope is steep
Had to sit to get this photo - will be open next week
Far down the slope below these was a rose hyacinth orchid budding - will be back
Short ride. Rain held off. A bit short of orchids but good to be out to clear the head.
Afternoon spent raking back lawn after a big storm. Fixing the next series of emails - cut spam words out. Hope it works.
Crimson rosella wanted food at the side door. Becoming a regular visitor
Dinner action: Thai crab fried rice. I bought some nice blue swimmer crab last week.
A simple enough process using already cooked rice. Fry up some garlic and ginger and spring onion briefly. Mix in cooked rice - then flatten out
Flattening out is the key skill to get toastiness into the rice
Mix through two beaten eggs. That starts the egg cooking and then flatten out again.
Mix through the ceab meat gently - zoom and you will see it is quite chunky - keep it that way. Then flatten it out
Mix in chopped spring onion (the green end) and coriander (or Vietnamese mint in this case)
Serve with Thai chilli dip - garlic, chilli, fish sauce, lime juice.
Trade action: Bought CBK.DE, CNA.L, CBOE. Hedge trades on TLT and VGK short.
