Woke to a grey bleak day. Not a shred of sun to be seen all day and brrrr cold. Did a little garden tidying after the big wind a few days back.
Spent the morning working on an IM checklist for new launch of Kevin Fahey's IM checklists. I need to solve some email deliverability issues - might as well use the time to solve my own issues.

Went for a late afternoon walk - used the flowers to cheer my mood - camellia time. I have walked the streets a lot and noticed all the knock down rebuilds going on - time for photos
Great autumn colours for this one - built with double brick were the ads a few months back

On this house they are knocking down part of the garage - guessing they will be integrating an extension to the house
The new way of building - frame and fill with cardboard - no bricks
Rain has delayed the slab laying on this house - as it is a frame and cardboard house it does not really matter if the slab has not cured - not been 6 weeks

This is the general pattern. Buy a house for $1.8 to 2 million and knock it over - build a Georgian house
Steps done were cold steps.
Dinner: Hungarian goulash - a rich tomato sauce with heaps of paprika is the key
Then lay in a whack of cream just before serving. I whisked some cream cheese and milk to make my cream.
Normally served with pasta or spaetzle - I did boiled potatoes smashed up a little

Beautiful flowers. I have never heard of cardboard and frame construction, so I will need to look it up. I am always a little depressed by seeing houses town down. It seems like a loss of history but also a consumption of resources to build the next one. That said, I am pretty tired of fixing plumbing problems and rotted wood around my old house!
In the good old days where I grew up houses were made of brick. Then they went to frame houses - framed with steel or wood and filled with single brick walls. Nowadays they fill the frames with cheaper materials - used to be asbestos sheeting as it is well insulated - now it looks and feels like cardboard.
Plumbing is another story with lead giving way to copper to plastic.
