Column Work on Bonnet Orchids Photos : My Actifit Report Card: January 4 2022

Hard to know what day of the week it is. Normally my wife would head back to work after the holiday. They closed her office down until 10th. So every day feels like the weekend. Her friend arrived mid-morning to stay overnight - she has spent a lot of time with us over the last few weeks so the weekend feel kept on going. Did go out to ride and walk a local track

Thought I might find midge orchids up high. No luck. I did see a post a few days back about the column arrangement on bonnet orchids. Normally my photos are a bit top down so one cannot see the column. Today I got down low to see if I could get the column

Flannel flowers. This one has green tips that caught my eye. Will need to review other photos to see if they all have green tips

Great background of eucalyptus losing its bark for this orchid

Banksia. Walked to end of track to see if any flying duck orchids came up. None. Headed back and walked off track for a bit

The variegated hyacinth orchid copes better with competition in the bush. It is leafless and less dependent on light to win.

The detail on this small flower is amazing. Walked up a different path to cross cut back to bike to see what I can find

Did some shredding work in garden when I got home.

I like this walk as it is always quiet. The kids take a track down the steep path to get to the swimming holes. Very few people come this way as it is a dead end. Well not really - one can walk down to the creek at the end but you do need to know the path.
